Semestocalypse

I agree with you. I feel like the semester has gone by so fast! It is a great feeling to know that we are almost done with yet another semester and so much closer to graduation day. I am also a big procrastinator. It is a habit I have been struggling with for a while. I never thought it was that great a deal until it left me with not so good grades. I’m working on not waiting until the night before to finish up my homework.

I enjoyed reading your post! I feel the same way, I am so ready to graduate and get out of Statesboro. If there is such thing as juniorist then I have it too! and I am very glad PR does not require grad school.

End of semester!

5 May

The end of the semester means two things, finals and summer is almost here! It is exciting to know that another semester is almost complete but it is also super stressful trying to cram in all the last-minute studying and homework. This summer wouldn’t be as amazing as my previous summers since I am taking three summer classes, one at 8 am. However, I am very glad to be finishing up this semester and moving on to my senior year of college.

I guess you could say I had a few more lows than most people starting this semester. I transferred to Georgia Southern in the fall of 2010. The first semester was a bit hard for me since I am in a long distance relationship and have many friends back home. When Spring semester started I told myself I am going to make the best of this situation and try to stay positive through it all. It wasn’t easy, I missed my boyfriend and friends even more after hanging out with them the entire winter break. Living in Statesboro was a culture shock for me since I am from a big city and Statesboro is quite small. It was a very big low point for me and it didn’t help that my grades were possibly the worst they had ever been because I was skipping classes to go back and see loved ones. My high point came when I got a job as a sales associate at Body Central. I met more people through work and started enjoying the college life more that the small town of Statesboro has to offer.

If I could go back and change everything I would have done it from the start. I got into Georgia Southern my freshman year. My family found out that his job was requiring him to move from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta. I was a senior in high school yet, planning on attending the University of North Carolina in the Fall of 2008. With the move in progress my family suggest I apply to some Georgia schools. Georgia Southern was my first and only GA school I was interested in at the time. I came down for a visit over the summer but I didn’t like much about the area. I wish I could take it back and start here fresh maybe even join a sorority. I have transferred a few times now, since I never seemed to find the right place that fit me best. Now I am here and plan to stay here until I graduate. I am trying to make the best of the situation and met new friends along the way!
